Feeling the breezewhile cycling
If you are touring the temple and Heijo Palace ruins, bike sharing is convenient.
You can return the bicycle at any cycle port located throughout the area whenever you like.
Pre-registration as a member is required.
The estimated time is based on using an electric-assist bicycle.

The cycle port on the Station Plaza of the North Exit of the Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji Station
bicycle for about 12minutes.

Mizukami Pond
This is one of the largest reservoirs in Nara City and was once part of the Heijō Palace garden.
It is also a popular spot for bird watching.bicycle for about 6minutes.

Konabe Kofun, Uwanabe Kofun
You can see two keyhole-shaped tombs (kofun) surrounded by a pond.
The Uwanabe Tomb has been revealed in recent surveys to be the largest in Nara City.Additional recommendations
If you are visiting Futaiji Temple,
follow the orange route.※ From the Uwanabe Tomb to Futaiji Temple is about a 10-minute bike ride.
Please be aware that the last order for lunch at Tenpyō Umashi-kan is at 14:30,

Heijō Palace SiteEastern Garden
Based on archaeological surveys, a garden from the Tang period has been restored.

Tenpyō Umashi-kan
Enjoy lunch while gazing at the Suzaku Gate.
The most popular dish is the Silk Road Curry, inspired by the spices brought back by the envoys to Tang China.bicycle for about 7minutes.

The ruins of Heijō Shrine
Head from the Suzaku Gate to the Daigoku Gate and the First Daigoku-den.
